Traffic Compaction/Wear

High traffic areas that cause compaction or excessive wear on SeaIsle 1turf will require regular maintenance. This maintenance is especially critical in salt-affected environments. Long term turf performance can be enhanced with scheduled aeration events at least 12 inches (300 mm) deep twice each year and shallow applications (4 - 6 inches or 100 - 150 mm) monthly during peak use.

Management options on golf courses include:
                                             1) Restricting cart traffic solely to cart paths
                                             2) Roping off highly traveled areas
                                             3) Application of crumb rubber (best used as a topdressing application)
                                             4) Overseeding during the winter months
                                             5) Aeration - verticutting - use of highly soluble nitrate sources
                                             6) Good drainage
